The most convenient flea treatments now involve applying a drop  of medicine  onto your cats neck once a month. This helps break the fleas breeding cycle as adult fleas only jump on your cat to feed and spend most of their time on the ground as eggs, larvae and pupae.  It is important to treat all animals in the house, not just the dog, to break the flea life cycle.
